I used to not enjoy Monday mornings.

But nowadays Monday mornings often mean it’s time for an official Lark & Lily meeting… and suddenly I’m starting to like Monday mornings

There have been a few new packages arriving for Lark & Lily these days– we’ve re-ordered some new paint chips for our fan decks and received some new fabric samples from some of our favorite online vendors.

These are just a few of my favorites…

On a fantastic sunny day like today– I am dreaming of some colorful throw pillows made with the Dwell Studio Citrine Vintage Blossom fabric. So gorgeous!

Inspiration Board – A Retro Nursery

A few months ago I was shopping at a local thrift store. I found this fantastic retro blue velvet chair with orange piping. It was a steal at $25, it was in great condition, it swiveled, it rocked– it was awesome! I snapped a picture of it– and found that I couldn’t seem to get it out of my mind. I knew it would look fantastic in a colorful baby boy’s nursery… so I decided to build a nursery around the chair!

This is a budget nursery– all the elements are reasonably priced and available at big box stores or online. Take a look at the inspiration board!

In the end I didn’t personally need the chair. But I was really hoping that some cute little boy would get to have it in his room. And what do you know– it happened! One of my good friends saw the chair a few days later and snatched it up for her adorable little guy. It looks fantastic in his room– if I do say so myself!

Elissa and I are both getting ready to start kitchen renovations in our own homes, which we are hoping will start in the next few months. Naturally, we are pinning kitchens like crazy and we seem to find a new kitchen to love every week. Here are a few white kitchens that I have been loving lately. My Favorite Transformation

When we moved into our current home it was… well… colorful. Every room was a different vibrant shade– and some rooms had multiple colors! I love color– just not that much all at once. Slowly but surely, each room has gotten a makeover. While I love the transformation in each room of our house– my favorite “new” room has got to by my daughter’s nursery. It’s bright and cheerful– it’s got some pink going on– but it’s not overly girly and frilly.

The latest addition to her room is the gallery wall– it’s full of pictures and images that are meaningful. They are framed in a mix of new and old frames.

Instead of purchasing pre-made bedding I made my own custom crib sheet and pillows. It you can’t find something you like in the stores– you’ve got to make it yourself!

I couldn’t bring myself to post the “before” pictures at the beginning– this is supposed to be a blog of beautiful space after all! So, I’ll just sneak it in here at the end. See you later purple picket fence!

One of My Favorite Spaces

I love my home. It feels comfortable and beautiful, quirky and cozy. It is filled with things that we love or that we have made. Although far from finished, there are a lot of spaces that i love. One of which is the most awkward room in the house… our ‘family room’. One of the previous owners of our home compiled a house history book of sorts, including pictures of the house, house listing information, when the blueberry bushes were planted etc… and i remember seeing that on one of the house listing sheets, it advertised the family room as being spacious. i find it hard to believe that anyone would see this room that way… the fireplace is tucked in the corner and there are entrances and exits to the garage, the backyard, the basement, the laundry room, the bathroom, and stairs into the kitchen, leaving the room with next to no space to actually be a room. I love that we have made an awkward space beautiful and functional for our family. It has become the perfect room to relax and unwind in. Who doesn’t love a good crackling fire after a long day? Seriously perfect
